The hotel was in a great location, staff were nice, friendly and helpful and I would tell any one who is going to Leeds to try the etap hotel
I couldn't really fault this hotel
Ideally located for day to day travel. Lovely spacious room with an amazing shower.
Only one fault I could find which was that there was no kettle in the room, but with the machines in the foyer this wasn't a big issue.
No fuss hotel. Reasonable breakfast.
Bit too basic. Bed very hard. Lack of parking a downside - ncp was difficult to find and a reasonable distance. Would only recommend to someone who needed somewhere cheap to stay with no frills required.
The Etap Hotel Leeds provides a no-frills base to explore Leeds and the surrounding area with easy access to motorways. If you are looking for a cheap break this is a perfect solution, although a travelodge is more comfortable (but more expensive). The catering area is clean and well stocked, and there are a few places to eat nearby, with Leeds centre only a few minutes walk away. Our room was clean with linen & towels replaced every day (which was a pleasant suprise based on the price!). If you are only looking for a base to sleep / wash, this is perfect. There isn't any parking on-site but we found a few empty spaces on the streets opposite from the hotel on the right hand side which were perfectly fine and free to use. I visited with my mum so we booked a family room (double bed & overhead single bunk). I'd use Etap again.
The beds were a little uncomfortable, but we got used to them after the first night and the bunk bed was pretty high up with a steep ladder to climb - ok for children as it passes the safety regulations (as displayed on stickers on the framework) but still be careful! I don't think they would be suitable if you have any mobility restrictions.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was compact but clean
Not a complaint but a comment, no kettle in room or plug near a mirror
the only good thing about it is that its in leeds!
we stayed for 1 night for a concert. got there after a 3 hour bus trip, staff were pig ignorant, room was poor, no privacy at all, shower with glass door in the room, when you step out to get a towel you're in the room. room is for 3 people, only 2 towels! no bath mat of any kind. had to use the top i had took off so we did not slip. no kettle or drink making facilities. would not stay again for all the tea in china!
Near to city centre.
Breakfast was average - bread poor for a French hotel chain!
It's an extremely cheap / low cost hotel, so expect it to be low cost. However, they offer a clean minimalistic room, with no extra's (no shower gel, etc). Location is good (close to the outgoing area of Leeds). Main line: good value for money, don't expect much, but it's fine.
For the price you pay you shouldn't expect much. I can imagine it can be quite noisy, as it is mainly a hotel for young people visiting Leeds for its night life. Continental breakfast is minimal.
We really enjoyed our stay at the etap. although compact it was very comfortable, We liked the shower but the toilet was on the small side.We didnt have time for breakfast but this seemed very good value, we would certainly use the hotel again.
I have stayed in the etap hotel on 11 ocassions during the past four months on business and have found it to be in an ideal location for anyone who works in the City Centre on a budget. It is just across the road the bus station, 5 minutes walk from the shops and is 10 minutes walk from the railway station. The bedrooms are basic, but you get what you pay for. The staff are approachable and friendly.
As the hotel is very reasonably priced it attracts a lot of young particularly at weekends and on Thursday nights, who use rooms for stopping off after a night out in Leeds. These people return in the early hours of the morning and can be quite noisy when walking along the corridors to their bedrooms. The solution is to avoid these nights or request rooms on high floors.
The central location and the friendliness/helpfulness of the staff.
Location is excellent
Shower cubicle had not been cleaned as previous user had left hairs....
Great location, good price, and friendly/helpful staff.
Breakfast charge was over £3 per person, yet consisted of little more than croissants, toast, and cheap cereal.
Good location and excellent value for money
Parking was difficult due to road system around the hotel - probably not an issue for most guests if coming by train. One of the two lifts was out of order - made it very slow getting up to floor 8!
I did like friendly hotel staff.
I did not like lack of kettle, fridge and big tv.
